A Haisla Totem being carved..and an escape

We were out for a Sunday drive.....that smoke in the background is from Alcan and the cruise ship? it is a 'camp' facility for workers. There is a multi-billion $ Modernization going on and they weren't able to get their camps up and running, for whatever reason..so, they chartered an old cruise ship.

I was asked to document the final stages of a totem being carved for the high school....I was there on Thursday last week. This is a Haisla carver..Nathan....
