Prince Rupert to Port Simpson

Having been bleating about not having a mutiple get-away, we decided to go check out Port Simpson. Home of the Lax Kw'alaams, the Tsimshian. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lax_Kw'alaams

These are the people I was Santa for last Christmas in Prince Rupert. The off-reserve folks.

So anyway, we bolted outta Dodge Thursday afternoon. Sharon had a nails appointment and I have truck repairs to arrange. The engine has an exhaust leak..as in manifold leak..and the truck also needs to have an undercoating done. I sorta thought I would have the undercoating done in the fall down in Vancouver, but..no. None..and I do mean NONE of the shops I talked to will do an RV, except the shop in Terrace. I looked from Prince George to Seattle. So...good for me..it'll get done sooner than later. As for the exhaust manifold leak...fukfukfuk....but, it is a huge engine in a pretty small place  and the heat build-up is tremendous. So...I have to get this done. double fukfukfuk

OK ok..fine...we got the appointments made and out we head, west bound and down...to Prince Rupert. We got in just in time to see the closed sign go up in Dolly's...so no fish and chips. Oh..wait...we could got to the Breakers Pub. Do and Sharon orders fish and chips...

If she had had one of these...she mght have been able to actually see piece of fish. I, on the other hand, had a jambalaya and THAT was good.

After dinner it was out to the ferry dock. Figured might as well be first in line for the 7:30 boarding time.

 The Mate...

and at 8am, give or take, we cast off and sail awayyyyyy..on a 45 minute trip.

 Up through the  'Narrows'.....

Five trailers filled with processed fish. They un-load the trailers in Prince Rupert, transfer the fish to other trailers and off the go to Vancouver.

We got back into Rupert about 7pm..and YES!...Dolloy's for good fish and chips. Headed down to the seaplane base to a great parking spot we had used before.
