And sometimes a day is just taken up with the mundane. Showers, dumping...stuff. One of the things with us...is that Sharon has a mop of red hair...I have no idea why she won't just shave it off...makes life that much easier. Anyway, this was day 5 of what is usually a 3 day schedule of 'hair day'. Often, we use rec centers and that can be a real luxury. This trip we have been running into lots of closures for yearly maintenance..San Fransisco being the latest. So...today, it was just get the hair washed...we have the gear, but...sometimes it seems like a big deal. Today could have gone either way. Man..it was pouring rain and some ugly in Santa Cruz, Ca. So...we planned it out..found the dump we would then be re-filling fresh water at...parked at a mall lot, had the showers...broke out the 3000 watt portable inverter...need that for the dryer....did all that, dumper the tanks and fuerled...did some grocery shopping and it was almost 1. Rolled on for an hour...pulled off to make lunch...and had a nap too.
Turned out it was an Army Corp of Engineers re-hab site just north of Castroville...otter and all kinds of bird life. Hundreds of pelicans.
