The Blue Dog in Lafayette...lots of
bally-hoo in many of the websites. It's just a tired buffet with good servers. The music was nice...IF you were anywhere close to it. Otherwise, it was an unheard part of the Blue Dog. They advertise about 'true' Cajun food....and I suppose there were one or two...but...
Someone filled her plate tho.....
However.....should you ever be in Lafayette and are wanting to experience real Cajun stuff...food, music..spirit. Yeah..'spirit. Off you go to Randols. We look some more, on line..then called a few mentioned and we were given this place's name. Man oh man...Sunday night...we walked in and it's just a place, right? Tables and people sitting...and a band playing a bit. Within maybe 30 minutes the place had begun to fill..and we noted the wooden benches along the walls in the dance area...and young folk were packing in. High school looking. Just good looking kids..and then kids too...and granmas and pops....and then..away they went. This place has a huge following. People pack in just for dancing. They pay $5 to dance (no dinner). And it was so great to watch. We got out on the floor for a couple too
mmm
We met an Aussie lass...a sheila, right? She was travelling the world for a year.Anyway..we had shared the table over our mediocre brunch and had agreed to join up of we found some music.So..we did and we did....
Monday, we went off to Opelousa for a drive. Lafayette seemed to be not our thing, so much.
