Because I am swashbuckling sort....I was invited to go with a guy that was running a landing craft type boat and his crewman, up to the head end of the the Kildala Channel. They had to go fetch a cubevan that a contractor had been using up there. There is a work camp up there and so...whatever the contractor was doing...he was done and his van had to come back.

The tide was coming in but it was going to be another 4 hours to high tide and even then, there was no way that they could just drive the van onto the boat. Huge rocks and so on......
After trying to drive it on...and getting it dragged back up the rubble...they put on the ramp extensions and drove it on.
And did the same to get it off.
This is the first time I have been on the Douglas Channel and my oh my...what a grand adventure.
This is the dock at the head end of the Arm
This is a crew boat, out of Kitimat..brings work crews in everyday. Guy spends 1 hour in the morning and one hour at night, driving the boat..and then 10 hours reading and fishing.
