Anyway, she drove down on Thursday, leaving Kitimat just after 6am..apparently MY cat was not co-operating as far as coming in when called. Oh yes, just like all cats...comes when called...not. t's a 12/14 hour haul and she was about 10 hours into it when the low oil light popped on. Just south of a place called Quesnel..in the Cariboo. She was close to a Wal-Mart so, which was fortunate indeed. Did a check and no oil on the stick..got some ..enough to at least show on the stick and limped it to an oil change shop, just a bit of a ways back. They poked around and thought it was a blown main seal. FUCK They said to just keep oil on the stick...check it often and go, girl, go. The car made it to the intersection in Cache Creek...left for east and right for south downhill to Vancouver...right in the middle of the intersection is where the engine light popped on. She limped it into the DQ lot, called me..I called BCAA and hey presto. By happenstance and damned good planning, when the car began to give off the oil, I had made an appointment in Kamloops at the Hyundai dealer, for 8 am, Saturday, so BCAA dropped Sharon in Savona to me, and dropped the car in Kamloops. By 7:30 am I had chatted with service and when we rolled in at 10:30 to get some stuff out of the car...it was all set to go. An oil pressure sensor had failed, spewing oil everywhere. Car had been washed and that was that. One very happy girl.
The next day was a shopping day in Kamloops...and what the hell, lets have some pie at the Roadhouse Cafe in Savona on our way back to the campground.
In fact..it was so yummy and the guy the owns, operates and cooks pointed out the steak special and |Sharon wanted to try it......
Driving back to the campsite.....
I met up with a bud in Kamloops..after getting the car all squared away.....a failed Oil Pressure Sensor.....and Sharon got on to her stuff in Salmon Arm in great spirits.
We went to Chapters...nooo..not the bookstore....a restaurant.
Look at this view....from the table......geeeez....
What a view and a great lunch.....
